August 16 – This was one of the best days during our vacation. You know when you are in a place long enough that you start to feel normal there? You remember where things are, you’ve developed some favourite spots, you begin thinking about apartment shopping and looking for that creative job position in Capitol Hill? Yep, the fifth day in Seattle was that kind of day, so we decided we had to hit up some incredibly touristy spots to keep Seattle “fresh” for us. Started the day at our hotel’s restaurant Portage Bay Cafe where I loaded up on their buckwheat pancakes with endless fruit toppings. Only $10. Best breakfast deal ever, gluten-free at that.
We headed to the mid-century modern mecca immediately that morning: the SPACE NEEDLE. I can’t say that it was totally worth the $18 each ticket price but I also can’t imagine NOT going to the Space Needle! It is so cool and the views are wicked amazing from up there. Afterwards, we checked out the Experience Music Project which was very cool and had an amazing room full of guitars and also an epic whirlwind sculpture of stringed instruments which you can see below. We ended our amazing day with the most incredible, intoxicating, mind-blowing batch of MASSIVE oysters that I have ever eaten. It was so intoxicating we were literally drunk on our stools at the fish shack. Wow. So of course, we had to top that off with some scoops of Molly Moon’s Ice Cream after! x
