Off to Vegas for the week to celebrate the wedding of Byron’s cousin Joel and our y soon-to-be cousin-in-law, Janice! We are staying off the strip this time which I am greatly looking forward to – our own private pool complete with palm trees. Can’t wait to indulge in a bit of r&r by the water and of course, party it up!

See y’all in a week!

happy two years!

Happy 2 years to my sweet husband, Byron! Can’t believe it has been only two years – feels like forever – in a good way!

It was so much fun to look over our wedding photos again – what an amazing day filled with so many amazing people, friends and family. The best of the best. Oh and that wedding cake….yum!

life lately

Live. Life. Happy. My dear friend Karen recently gifted me this super special charm bracelet that she designed for Good Charma. It’s a daily reminder to remember the small and happy things in life. And there has been many small and happy things in our life lately. Whether it is spending time together in the sun or family get-togethers for weddings, Canada Day or Stampede – we’ve been having a ball. You can follow me on instagram here!

a mountain-top wedding

This past weekend, Byron and I attended the third wedding I have ever been to (including my own)! It was the wedding of my longtime friend Jenny and her lovely man Andy. They are adventurers so having a wedding on top of mountain certainly seems suiting to them.  It was at the Kickinghorse Mountain Resort’s Eagle’s Eye Restaurant and it was breathtaking.  We were higher than any surrounding mountain.  It was a such a beautiful wedding and I was so happy to see my oldest friend (we met on the first day of Junior High) get married to such a great guy.  I look forward to spending more time with them when they return from their epic West Coast honeymoon.  Enjoy the view:

I had to include this cool shot of Andy’s Dad. So perfect.

Our Special Day featured in Swerve Magazine

I finally made the front page of the paper.  And look at that – right next to Justin Bieber – who would have thought?!

I was asked by Swerve months ago to be a part of this lovely little feature on Calgary brides and I was so excited to get to see the happiest day of my life immortalized in magazine print!  A dream come true, right?

The layout is absolutely beautiful and I feel so lucky to be sharing these pages with three other super gorgeous Calgary brides, including Danae Thompson who is the Art Director at Swerve.  So many pretty weddings!  It was a lot of fun getting interviewed by my Swerve editor Meghan Jessiman and sharing our memorable anecdotes about the special day.

You can read the feature online here: The Dream of A Themed Wedding and more about my wedding here: Craft It Yourself, but I highly reccommend picking up a copy of Swere today or this weekend because this whole feature on weddings really is a work of art!
