August 18 – White Rock & Crescent Beach. I was really excited for this part of the trip. We were stopping for a day in my old hometown of Crescent Beach in White Rock, BC. I couldn’t wait to show Byron were I grew up and the amazing beaches that I remember so fondly. Luckily, after 16 years nothing had really changed. My schools were still there, Tom’s schools were still there, the berries were still there. Even Camp Alexandra where my Mom and I camped as part our Brownies Group remained the same. The sushi and fish & chips were still there. I feel so lucky to have grown up beside the ocean and to have had so much exposure to art and culture at such a young age. Thanks Mom & Dad!
Our hotel was beautifully situated across the street from the ocean and we had a beautiful view of the sunsetting over the water. I couldn’t ask for more – except maybe a couple more nights there. We will definitely be back. Sigh.
