All right, the first full week of 2014 is complete and I think it is suffice to say that we all survived and we’ve only quit half of our New Years resolutions. Which is totally a-okay. I’ve been doing January booze-free after spending way too many nights (such a thing?) in December indulging in Prosecco and Amaretto Sours. Oof. It has been working though and I’ve managed to avoid social drinking opportunities but we are only ten days in so we shall see. I tried to give up on take-out for the month but we just couldn’t say no to delivery Pho the other day when it was really cold. Ya win, some ya lose some. There is always another day to fix it.
I’m looking forward to a weekend of farmer’s markets (yay, they are finally open again), breakfast dates with my husband, reading my stack of books from Christmas and spending some quality time with my family. Also, planning on re-working our budgets and planning for a fresh new year of adventures. I find January is a good time to clear out unnecessary costs and re-evaluate your bills. I just managed to save $80/month on our cable+internet bill. That is $80 more for our next vacation!
Happy Friday, y’all!
